Its been about a week since i wrote last.. Many things have happened since then, I have started TAFE, watched the most amazing episode of buffy, made some friends, seen I Am Sam, seen Dirty Deeds, been offered a new graphics card and 4gb hdd for my puter...
So many things to talk about, so little time.
First things first, Tafe started last monday, and what with me needing lots of sleep and all, I haven't had a chance to write here. I'm the youngest in my course by a long way, most people are 20-25 yrs old and male. (there's no problem in that, I love geek guys) I've made a few friends in my class, Yeh Yeau, a 25yr old asian dude with a soul patch :P, Ashley, a 20yr old hungarian dude who's giving me a GeForce2 for free (cause he has one lying around) and David, a 20yr old aussie dude who I've spent most of break +lunch time chatting with. My timetable is great..
Monday - 9-5pm
Tuesday - 9-4pm
Wednesday - Day off
Thursday - 9-5pm
Friday - 9am-12
Now to some of you that mightn't sound that good, but considering these factors, you might see why I'm loving it.
1. You can smoke on campus
2. 1/2 hour breaks in the middle of each lesson
3. Internet access during class
4. Lots of geek guys to talk to about puters and drugs and such
5. The fact that I'm learning about computers 23 hours of my week
Now to you that mightn't sound that good, but trust me, I'm as fucking happy as a pig in mud. :))))
Now on to the next subject of discussion, Tonight's Episode of buffy... All I have to say is this... Joss Whedon - YOU ARE MY GOD! you might think I'm over-reacting a bit here, and hey.. maybe you're right, but i thought that the first half of the season 6 finale was brilliant. Willow looks so good with black eyes and hair, and being all vengancey and solomn, well you never see her that way, Alyson Hannigan did a fantastic job of playing Black Mage Willow (I have played enough of Final Fantasy IX to want to refer to her as a mage, the eyes remind me of that game)I cannot WAIT until tomorrow night's episode.
In the past week I've seen I Am Sam, and Dirty Deeds, I Am Sam, was a sweet movie, I've been meaning to see it for some time now, and as Oprah promised, It was a brilliant performance by Sean Penn, the little girl was very sweet, but over all, i came out with that taste in my mouth like i had eaten too much candy. It was a sickly sweet, predictable movie, which passed over many of the hardships in reality. I would have enjoyed the movie more had the writers tried not to make it have such a happy ending, and also not to have so many damn montages.
On Saturday night I went and saw Dirty Deeds, because buses aren't reliable, Kate met me later than planned and we had to sit 1 row from the front of the cinema (I HATE having to do that!) I missed the first ten minutes of the movie, but the general view I got of it was that I was trying to do so many good things with its plot, although many of these things never eventuated by the end of the movie, It was amusing watching 2 american actors interacting with the likes of Bryan Brown (typical aussie mafia typecast) and also nice to see the old aussie paper bills being used in the movie. As kate pointed out to me, she saw at least 5 Holden cars in the movie that were made after 1970 (the movie was set in 1969) I think to me, that pretty much summed up the whole movie. Trying to be nostalgic and funny, but quite obviously trying too hard, and eventually failing.
Phew, I ought to go to bed...
